WHAT TO SEE
Noravank is a 13th-century Armenian monastery, located 122 km from Yerevan, in the narrow gorge of the Amaghu River, near the city of Yeghegnadzor. The gorge is surrounded with tall, brick-red cliffs. The monastery is best known for its two-storey Surb Astvatsatsin church, which grants access to the second floor via a narrow stone staircase on the building’s façade.
WHAT TO DO
Enjoy your rest in the beautiful old-fashion
atmosphere created in Qarandzav Tavern with its hand-woven rugs, wine jugs, clay
pottery. Witness the process of baking “lavash” in the adjacent “tonir”, the
oven dug in the ground.
Finally, taste the freshly made Armenian dishes while
drinking the famous Areni wine.
